Artist Statement

Unknownezqui aka. Rúben Barros (2003, Portugal) is a digital artist who explores abstract representations of people, moments, and emotions. Fascinated by the power of visual expression to convey memories, emotions, and critiques of the world, his work transforms everyday elements into something entirely new, inviting personal interpretation.

Using his own photography as the foundation, Barros captures scenes and objects that spark his curiosity, later manipulating and reshaping them through digital tools. His creative process is akin to sculpting—layering textures, experimenting with distortion, and refining colors to push the boundaries of perception. Recently, he has begun incorporating hand-drawn elements, further expanding his artistic language.

His work is not confined to a single place—carrying a laptop as a mobile studio, he creates wherever inspiration strikes, allowing his art to evolve with his surroundings.
